Recently SAEINDIA off-highway board has declared a competition, TIFAN -2025, Which is about manufacturing of “Automated Multi Vegetable Transplanter”. For Chili, Brinjal, and tomato saplings. Teams are expected to conceive, design, develop and demonstrate a working-level prototype of a farm machine at the specified venue with the criteria and requirements laid down in this rule book. It is a national-level event conducted among all engineering colleges from India. Also discussed was Innovation in Agriculture equipment along with the importance of product development in John Deere products
The mechanical Engineering department arranged a session on the “Awareness Session on TIFAN-2025 on 13th August 2025 at NKOCET, Solapur. In this session, 89 students presented from the Mechanical Engineering Department For this awareness session we had a guest Mrs. Sayali Gore Lead Engineer John Deere India Pvt Ltd, Pune., Mr. Rohan Jagdale Marketing Representative John Deere Pune.,Mr. Krushanna Kalatre Graphics Design Engineer John Deere Pune., HOD of Mechanical Engg. Department Prof. S.S. Kale and Faculty Members of Mechanical Engg. The department faculty was present on this occasion.

About TIFAN
TIFAN stands for “Technology Innovation Forum for Agricultural Nurturing”. It is an initiative by SAEINDIA (Society of Automotive Engineers) which is an international organization. SAEINDIA was started in 1994 and has been working towards the development of the automotive industry in India. TIFAN is a student competition program that aims to promote innovation and technology in agriculture. The program is designed to encourage students to come up with innovative solutions that can help improve the agricultural sector in India

Attended a 1st offline workshop
Our team, Krushimanthan_2.0, attended a 1st offline workshop at D.Y. Patil College of Engineering, Akurdi, Pune. At this workshop, we met our industrial mentors, and we are grateful for the opportunity to connect with them. We discussed various aspects of our project, and they provided us with excellent guidance.

An Industrial Mentor from John Deere India visited our college campus to clarify concepts and address doubts regarding the Automated Multi-Vegetable Transplanter project.
Phase-III- Proof of Concept (PoC) Round Qualified
Team has successfully completed the Proof of Concept (PoC) Round of the TIFAN25 competition, organized by John Deere India. In this round, we showcased a functional prototype of the pickup mechanism, a critical component of our “Automated Multi-Vegetable Transplanter” project, at PCCOE, Pune. Our innovative solution impressed the judges, demonstrating its potential to revolutionize agricultural practices.
Team Krushimantahan – 2.0 Achieves Another Milestone!
We are delighted to announce that our team has successfully completed the Proof of Concept (PoC) Round of the TIFAN25 competition, organized by John Deere India In this round, we showcased a functional prototype of the pickup mechanism, a critical component of our “Automated Multi-Vegetable Transplanter” project, at PCCOE, Pune. Our innovative solution impressed the judges, demonstrating its potential to revolutionize agricultural practices.We extend our sincere gratitude to our mentor Dr.Chetan Papade sir and Team members for their relentless support and guidance.With this achievement, we have paved our way to the finals!
