Objective of IIC

The Institute Innovation Cell (IIC) at Nagesh Karajagi Orchid College of Engineering and Technology (NKOCET), Solapur, established in 2018, aims to systematically nurture the culture of innovation, ideation, and entrepreneurship across the institution. The IIC is aligned with the guidelines of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), Government of India.

Its core objectives are:

✅ To foster a vibrant innovation ecosystem by engaging faculty, students, and alumni in idea generation and prototype development.

✅ To promote entrepreneurship and start-up culture by conducting regular workshops, hackathons, innovation challenges, and pitching events.

✅ To establish linkages with industry and incubation centres to facilitate mentorship, funding access, and technology transfer.

✅ To mentor students and innovators through the pre-incubation to startup stage, ensuring progression from idea to commercialization.

✅ To inculcate design thinking and problem-solving abilities that address local, regional, and national challenges through engineering solutions.

✅ To implement national innovation and startup policies by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and policy awareness within the institute.

✅ To contribute to the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat by developing innovation-led, socially impactful, and economically viable solutions.

Since its inception in 2018, NKOCET’s IIC has actively supported multiple student-led innovations, industry interactions, and entrepreneurship development programs, establishing itself as a dynamic innovation hub in the region.
