Admissions in Institutional Quota and Vacant Seats After CAP
The Director or Principal of the institution shall carry out the admissions for these seats in the following manner:
(a) Admissions shall be made in a transparent manner after the CAP Rounds and strictly as per the Inter-Se-Merit of the candidates who have applied to the Competent Authority for verification of documents and then to the Institution.
(b) An information brochure or prospectus of the institution, specifying the rules of admission, should be published well before the commencement of the admission process. All the information in the brochure should also be displayed on the website of the institution.
(c) The institution shall invite applications up to the date of allotment of the final CAP Round by notifying the schedule of admission and the number of seats in each course to be filled, through an advertisement on the institution’s website.
(d) Aspiring candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria as notified by the Government and specified by the appropriate authority from time to time shall apply to the respective institution for admission at the Institution level as provided in clause (b) of sub-rule (4) of rule 3. Admissions shall be based on Inter-Se-Merit prepared by following the procedure specified in sub-rule (3) of rule 8 of these rules.
Provided that, if a candidate is unable to submit the application directly to the concerned institution for any reason, the candidate shall have the opportunity to apply through the website of the Competent Authority until the date of allotment of the final CAP Round. These applications will be forwarded to the respective institutions after the CAP Round IV allotment. The concerned institution shall consider such applications while preparing the Inter-Se-Merit.
(e) The institution, after verifying all required documents, shall prepare and display the Inter-Se-Merit lists of candidates for admission at the Institution level in the Institutional Quota and Supernumerary Quota (OCI, PIO, Foreign Nationals, Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries), along with the vacant seats after CAP, on the notice board and on the website of the institution.
(f) Minority or Non-Minority institutions intending to surrender the Institutional Quota (in part or full) for specified courses to CAP shall communicate this at least two days before the display of the seat matrix for CAP Round I. These seats will then be allotted as per CAP rules. Institutions shall not be allowed to surrender Institutional Quota seats thereafter.
(g) All admissions and cancellations must be updated immediately through the online system.
(h) If any CAP seat remains or becomes vacant after the CAP Rounds, it shall be filled by a candidate from the same category for which it was originally earmarked. If the seats still remain vacant, they shall be filled on the basis of Inter-Se-Merit of the applicants.
(i) While filling these seats, preference shall be given to Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates over All India Candidature Candidates based on Inter-Se-Merit.
(j) After exhausting Maharashtra State and All India Candidature Candidates, if any seat remains vacant in the sanctioned intake, these seats may be filled with NRI, Foreign Students (FS), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), or Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries (CIWGC) Candidature Candidates, provided the institute has secured prior approval from the appropriate authority.
